Sons of Perdition is a documentary film which follows young men who have been cast out of their fundamentalist polygamist Mormon communities. The young men are cast out by polygamist leaders to remove them as competition for wives, to ensure that the older men have enough available single young women to take on as additional wives.

Polygamist leader Warren Jeffs is once again running the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He gave up control in 2007, but sources within the church have told CNN that the man who replaced Jeffs as business head of the church, Wendell Nielsen, has resigned and that Jeffs has signed documents retaking control of the FLDS church.

It recommends to engaged Mormon couples that they consider not getting married in the temple (instead getting married outside the temple where all of the couple's friends and family can participate), but to get sealed there instead after their wedding.

This is a complete scanned online copy of the 1965 version of the church's "For the Strength of Youth Pamphlet." You can see how much things have changed (the 1965 version tells girls to make sure they don't go out with curlers still in their hair!), and how they have stayed the same.
The LDS church has planned a significant real estate development project in the Koolauloa area of Hawaii. Koolauloa is the district which includes Laie, where the church operates a temple and Brigham Young University-Hawaii. The church is trying to get hundreds of acres of agricultural land in Koolauloa rezoned in order to build an unknown number of homes, retail businesses and chapels. The church's plans also include building a 220-room Courtyard by Marriott hotel on the site of the demolished 50-room Laie Inn adjacent to the Polynesian Cultural Center.

The public open house for the San Salvador El Salvador Templewill run from Friday, July 1 through Saturday, July 23, excluding Sundays. The temple will be dedicated Sunday, Aug. 21 in three sessions.
